Charter a private jet with Falcona to the ever popular holiday destination Vilamoura in the Algarve With almost 160kms of beautiful coastline, the Algarve is one of the most popular destinations in Europe.

The award-winning beaches (Best Beach Destination in the World, 2020) and the wonderful climate, make it a top choice among travellers, not just in the summer, but all year round. While the beaches exert an almost irresistible pull, if you take the time to explore the region, you can discover country villages of white-washed houses, castles and chapels, cliff-top forts, and gorgeous natural parks.

For active holidays, the Algarve is considered one of the leading golf destinations in the world. There are country and ocean-view biking and hiking trails to travel, excellent sports facilities and plenty of fitness options to choose from for the whole family.

From Sagres in the west, once considered the end of the world, to the Spanish border in the East, there are modern resorts, quaint towns and unspoilt scenery to discover and enjoy.  Below we share some Algarve highlights to help you plan your stay.

One of the most popular destinations in the Algarve for a family holiday, Vilamoura is known for its fabulous marina, lively atmosphere, great restaurants, multiple golf courses and fabulous beach. A holiday here is a great option for families, groups of friends and couples.

An extensive resort, Vilamoura is centred around the award-winning Marina. Home to hundreds of sleek yachts, this is the perfect people-watching spot.

No matter the time of day, there is always activity at the marina with several trendy boutiques to tempt you, as well as plenty of boat trips heading out to sea to visit the famous caves or search for dolphins in the wild. Morning or evening, the marina is the place to be.

Vilamoura has two beaches – Praia de Vilamoura and Praia da Falésia. They are actually the same endless stretch of beach that runs for miles, separated by the marina. The sand is fine and golden, the water clear and the beaches offer areas with sunbeds for lazy days and lots of water sports for some fun in the sea. There are plenty of beachside restaurants too, serving all day long, some with live music and sunset sessions in the evenings.

There is a fabulous choice of restaurants and bars in Vilamoura, ranging from fine dining with a view, to rollicking Irish bars with live music and pub grub.

Some of our favorites are Thai Beach ClubO Marisco and just outside Vilamoura the fabulous Os Agostinos and Gaivota.

There is plenty to do and see in Vilamoura. There are fascinating roman ruins to see at Cerro da Vila, mini golf to play, nature trails to explore and a great tennis and padel centre.

There are several golf courses in Vilamoura, attracting golfers all year round. Boat trips are a very popular activity here – you can opt to go fishing, cruise along the coast, or enjoy a day at sea in a private luxury yacht.

There are several popular developments offering holiday homes in Vilamoura. Pinhal Velho is one of the most prestigious, with beautiful villas set on large grounds, offering comfort and privacy, yet only a few minutes drive from the holiday fun at the marina.

Vilasol is on the outskirts of Vilamoura. A popular, family-friendly resort, there are restaurants and bars here, as well as a golf course. Just a short walk outside Vilasol are several typically Portuguese restaurants (some of our favourites!) offering feasts of local dishes and seafood.

And Aquashow waterpark is just a few minutes away too. Vilasol is a tranquil location that has plenty of facilities nearby and is just a few minutes drive from the centre of Vilamoura.

Restaurants/bars located in Vilamoura include Thai beach clubNosolo ItaliaSalmoraPepper’s steakhousePurobeachCasa da Praia, Maresia beach barAgua Qlub and O Marisco.
