03 Apr Manchester to London
Falcona organised a return private jet charter flight from Manchester to London on a Cessna Citation CJ2+ aircraft for a family of 5. The flight had been re-scheduled a couple of times due to the travel restrictions in the UK.
With the lifting of the restrictions allowing you to meet up outside our clients decided to charter a plane to London. It was easier, quicker and less stressful than driving down.
It was great to finally get our clients down to London to see family members, who they hadn’t seen in such a long time.
Falcona – Hope you’re well. Does the Tier 4 affect you travelling on the 27th December? Let me know and will speak to you Monday.
Client – Thanks very much for your email. You preempted my call. Regretfully we will have to with this news. I’m sorry about this. We’ll have to rearrange for sometime late Jan or early February when hopefully the situation will have improved.
Falcona – All good to reschedule flight. They just need date that they can put into the diary however this can be changed nearer the time once we know if it’s possible to travel down to London again. Shall we go with 6th Feb as an initial date?
Client – So sorry not to reply it’s been a busy time. Yes okay 6th Feb good. Have a great Christmas. Kind regards.
Falcona – Hope you and the family are all well and safe. Looking at the flight next week, we’re in the same position with the travel restrictions. Listening to the Government, it could be possible mid-February that travel restrictions (lockdown 3 & tier system) could be lifted slightly. Can re-schedule flight.
Client – Hope you’re well. Looks like we’ll still be in lockdown on the 20th March? Appreciate your advices on when you think we’ll be allowed to travel.
Falcona – Hope everyone is well too. It’s still very quiet at the airport, but getting enquiries for late summer. Just looking at the dates. 29 March says rule of 6 or two households outdoors . 17 May says rule of 6 or two households indoors.
As you’re not staying overnight, probably be looking at Sat May 22 I will double check these dates with operator also. Let me know your thoughts.
Client -I’ll check with my sister too. I need to get a weekend when ive got my two older boys (which is every other weekend). Thanks for all your help.
Falcona – Provisionally rescheduled to Sat 22 May, however if that doesn’t suit then just let me know. Can update it for you.
Client – Hope you’re well. Can I ask are there any rules on your side barring me taking down the family to see my parents on the 27th or 4th April?
Falcona – Will double check for you and get back soon as possible with a definitive answer.
Client – Hi, Hope you’re well. Is it possible it can be considered to bring our dog Gibbs with us? Or leave him at the terminal? He’s very well behaved.
Falcona – Will check if pets are allowed on aircraft and if there any fees involved (domestic flight) so should be ok. Couple of things. Unfortunately won’t be able to bring the dog as it has to be under 8kg.
Will also need to bring the return flight forward slightly to 16;15 local as Southend Airport is being renovated and closes at 16:30-16:45 I can ask for an earlier departure from Manchester say 09.30am and return 16:15 if that’s ok
Client – Thanks for letting me know understand on the dog. On the airport closing. It closes 16.30 to 16.45? We could leave at 5pm.
Falcona – Final take-off is 16:15 set by the airport. Takes into account boarding, taxi-time and take off.
Client – So departure time is 9.40am? happy to keep it to then. Coming back 16.15. Guess we will have to keep to that. Can a taxi be organised to take us from Southend airport when we arrive. Only going about 3 miles.
Client – Will they put any croissants pastries fruit on the aircraft? A bottle of champagne too?
Falcona – Did ask, they do selection of sandwiches & fruit and I have ordered a bottle of LP for you.
Client – Brilliant thanks !
Falcona – No problem . If you can get those forms filled in tomorrow be appreciated. See you all tomorrow.

Operational Notes
Although travel and overnight stays were forbidden for months, the UK’s blanket ‘stay at home’ order has now been lifted as part of ‘Step 1’, along with the previous ‘stay local’ rules.
Non-essential travel is still discouraged, but different households are now allowed to meet outdoors, including on private land.
Many parks, gardens and stately-home grounds are already open, and others will open from March 29.
So are day trips allowed now? The answer is yes… but with some qualifications.
Official guidance says ‘no holidays’ from March 29, and government advice is still to stay local and minimise travel.
However, travelling out of your local area is no longer actively illegal – and government sources have confirmed that day trips are now permitted.
Meeting friends and family outdoors (rule of 6)
You can meet up outdoors with friends and family you do not live with, either:
- in a group of up to 6 from any number of households (children of all ages count towards the limit of 6)
- in a group of any size from up to two households (each household can include an existing support bubble, if eligible)
If you’re in a support bubble
If you are eligible to form a support bubble, you and your support bubble count as one household towards the limit of 2 households when meeting others outdoors. This means, for example, that you and your support bubble can meet with another household, even if the group is more than 6 people.
Where you can meet
You can meet in a group of 6 or a larger group of any size from up to 2 households (including their support bubbles) outdoors. This includes private outdoor spaces, such as gardens, and other outdoor public places and venues that are open. These include the following:
- parks, beaches, countryside accessible to the public, forests
- public and botanical gardens
- the grounds of a heritage site
- outdoor sculpture parks
- allotments
- public playgrounds
- outdoor sports venues and facilities
- outdoor hospitality venues
- outdoor attractions
If you need to enter through a house to get to a garden or other outside space and there is no alternative access, you should wear a face covering, wash or sanitise your hands when entering, and then go straight to the outside space.
If you need to use the bathroom, wash your hands thoroughly and go back outside immediately. You should maintain social distancing from anyone who is not in your household or support bubble, and hosts should follow fresh air (ventilation) guidance.
Aircraft
The CJ2+ private jet is designed to be both economical and high-performing. Business and leisure travelers like the idea of a private jet that performs economically without sacrificing performance or reliability.
The cabin of the CJ2+ is almost identical to the cabin of the CJ2. Seats are available for six passengers, which can track into the aisle and away from the sidewalls for greater comfort.
Folding side tables are available for all seats and can be stored in the side walls.
For your convenience the cabin is equipped with 110-volt power outlets. The CJ2+ was redesigned with extra soundproofing for a quieter flight.
Three baggage compartments can carry a total of up to 1,100 pounds of luggage. This aircraft is ideal for short-haul trips, typically up to 3 hrs.
