Champions League Match at The Etihad Stadium

For this last 16 second leg match Manchester City have a glamour trip to the South of France, to play AS Monaco. The first leg will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, February 21, with the return leg at Stade Louis II on Wednesday, March 15.

Depending on how the first leg goes Manchester City will be hoping to progress into the quarter finals. Both teams have been scoring goals for fun with Manchester City new signing Gabriel Jesus making an instant impact. They also have Aguero and a rejuvenated Yaya Toure to call on when they need a goal. Monaco have Falcao who seems back to his best goal scoring form, so it promises to be a very exciting match.

Stade Louis II got built in the early 1980s in place of Monaco’s old Stade Louis II. It officially opened on the 25th of January 1985. Stade Louis II was the host of the annual UEFA Super Cup encounters since they became a single match in 1998 until 2013, when UEFA decided to have the match played at a different venue each year. Stade Louis II is located on the southern border of the little state of Monaco. It is just a 15-minute walk to the stadium from the Royal Palace, and a 30-minute walk from the casino and Monte Carlo’s train station.
